“Hi! Welcome to Alpha Delta Pi for Round 1 of Recruitment. My name is Lindsay, please join one of my friends inside!”
I cannot believe that in less than one week I will be welcoming PNMs to meet my best friends in the world. I’m Lindsay Phillips, and I have the honor of being the Formal Recruitment Chair for ADPi.
As a senior, it’s overwhelming to think about the love I have received in my time here and how it far surpassed anything I could have imagined. I truly believe that everyone deserves to experience the unconditional love and matchless memories these people have given me. It is so bittersweet to think about my last year in ADPi; I am already missing something I still have. I know this is my last opportunity to live with my entire pledge class, to pile into one room watching our favorite movies, to spend every second together because we can’t stand to be apart.
I would do anything for these people. Every single person in this chapter has left their mark on me, and I consider myself far better because of them. Going through recruitment three years ago, I knew I absolutely adored ADPi because of the feeling I left the house with each time. Never have I felt so myself around people I had just met. In a time of uncertainty and new beginnings, I was sure of one thing. So my advice to you is this: Find a home where you are surrounded by people who will push you to grow, push you out of your comfort zone, and push you to be the best version of yourself. Focus on you. These friendships are lifelong, and you are worthy of the incomparable, lasting love I have found here.
I am forever grateful for the time I have spent as Formal Recruitment Chair. Three years ago, I never could have imagined myself upholding this role. I am where I am today because of the endless love and support of these women. Alpha Delta Pi will always be more than a sorority to me. I cannot wait to welcome all of you into the place I am so lucky to call home.
